Cameron Winter, the captivating voice and creative force behind Brooklyn’s acclaimed art-rock band Geese, is heading Down Under for the first time ever. Touring in support of his debut solo album Heavy Metal, Winter will play headline shows in Melbourne and Auckland this February. Released on Partisan Records, Heavy Metal is a deeply personal and experimental record—part diary, part daydream—written on the go in borrowed rooms and late-night city corners. It trades Geese’s sharp-edged post-punk for something darker, more abstract, and emotionally raw. Think Arthur Russell meets early Eno, all filtered through Winter’s offbeat lens.
