Enigmatic modern metal monsters Diamond Construct kick off their year with brooding new single, "Discarded", out now via Greyscale Records & Pale Chord.
Leaning into a darker, more mood-driven soundscape, "Discarded" captures the weight of self-doubt and the ache for genuine connection. "The song explores personal battles with feeling like you’re never good enough for someone time after time," vocalist Kynan Groundwater explains. "It’s about longing for real love, and the sense of loss when it all goes south. This song resonates deeply with me, and I know it’ll be cathartic to perform live, similar to how "Faded" feels therapeutic on stage. I think "Discarded" will connect with people who’ve experienced that same loneliness and struggle with self-worth."
The release debuted last night on triple j CORE and follows a massive touring run throughout 2025, including Diamond Construct’s first European tour alongside Aviana (SWE) with The Gloom In The Corner, and Australian shows with Stray From The Path (US), BABYMETAL (JPN), Ocean Grove, Thornhill, Alpha Wolf, Windwaker and more. The band continue their momentum this year, with a slot booked aboard HELLBOUND Cruise in October, and will take a step back from the road to focus on writing their next body of work - material they describe as their heaviest yet.
In mid-2024, Diamond Construct unveiled their sophomore album Angel Killer Zero, featuring standout singles "Jynx," "Switchblade OST," and "Hell Inside You". The record pushed the band further into the global spotlight, earning widespread support from Rage, triple j, Crunchyroll, and major DSPs including Spotify and Apple Music, alongside extensive editorial coverage and international reaction content.
From their humble beginnings in Taree, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, Diamond Construct have cemented their foundations with commitment to dreams of something greater. Many laps of Australia alongside such heavy-hitters as Greyscale labelmates Justice For The Damned, Alpha Wolf and Prompts (JPN), international acts Emmure (US), Ten56 (FR), Bury Tomorrow (US) and Kingdom of Giants (US) as well as a spot on CVLTFEST 2024 have created a base of loyal, frothing fans, recognising that there's no better place for Diamond Construct than on a big stage, commanding the energy and putting everything into their show from the first note to the last.
